A common guide for orientation. Universities and credential evaluators each apply their own conversion scales, and your university’s own assessment is the one that counts.

Good to know

Which conversion does a university use?

Each university and credential evaluator applies its own scale, and some look at individual module grades as well as your overall result. This guide helps you understand where your grades sit before you apply.

Are Australian grades the same at every university?

Most Australian universities use High Distinction, Distinction, Credit and Pass with a 7-point GPA, and the exact mark ranges vary slightly by university. Your transcript key shows your university’s own scale.

Do my old grades affect credit for experience?

Credit for prior learning focuses on what you’ve learned through work, assessed against a program’s learning outcomes. Earlier grades mainly matter for admission and for transferring credit from past courses.
